From a pile of paper to a voucher in Tally

An invoice, a receipt, and a Z-report do different jobs. AutoBooks keeps that difference, then waits for an accountant.

A desk in a Tanzanian practice rarely holds one kind of paper. There is a supplier invoice, a TRA receipt, a Z-report from the till, and a bank statement someone photographed on a phone. They look similar at a glance. They do not mean the same thing in the books.

AutoBooks starts with the file, not with a blank voucher. A photo or a PDF is read. A spreadsheet is parsed from the columns you mapped, so the numbers stay the numbers that were printed. Each physical slip stays one transaction. A Z-report is treated as a sales receipt, with turnover and tax taken from the printed totals, not invented from the list of items.

What comes back is a row the accountant can open: date, party, invoice number, base amount, VAT, and the grand total. If the client is VAT registered, tax is peeled off the taxable line. If the client has no VRN, the expense stays inclusive. That choice follows the client's registration, not a guess.

Nothing in that row is a posted entry yet. The file stays attached, the serial stays red until Tally has it, and the next step is a person. Approved rows can go to the trial balance, or straight to Tally through the connector on the firm's own computer. Tally remains the book of record.
