Overview
CA firm or company workspace
Choose a CA firm workspace to serve many client businesses, or a company workspace to keep one set of books in-house.

When the first person signs up, AutoBooks asks what kind of workspace to create. The choice decides which menus you see.
| Workspace | Best for |
|---|---|
| CA firm | Accounting practices that keep books for many client businesses. Includes Clients, the client portal, junior assignments, and the audit log. |
| Company | A single business with its own accountant or finance team. Documents and Review open directly on your one business. |
What a CA firm workspace adds
- A client list with each business's name, TIN, and VAT registration number.
- A client portal so each business can upload its own documents.
- Junior staff who only see the clients assigned to them.
- An audit log of important changes.
What a company workspace looks like
A company workspace has no client list. AutoBooks creates one internal record for your business, so Documents, Review, and Trial Balance work the same way without picking a client first.
