How AutoBooks works with Tally Prime
AutoBooks prepares and checks entries. Tally Prime stays the books of record.

AutoBooks sits in front of your books. It does the reading, sorting, and first draft of each entry. Tally Prime keeps the final books.
Two directions
- From Tally to AutoBooks: your ledgers, groups, voucher types, and Day Book can be copied into AutoBooks so suggestions use your real chart of accounts.
- From AutoBooks to Tally: approved rows become Tally vouchers when you choose Send to Tally.
Why there is a desktop connector
Tally Prime runs on a computer in your office or on a hosted server. A website cannot reach it directly. The AutoBooks Tally Connector is a small desktop app on that computer. It collects work from AutoBooks over a secure connection and passes it to Tally, so you never open a port to the internet.
You do not need Tally to start
Documents, Review, and Trial Balance work without any accounting system connected. You can connect Tally later.
